ABOUT US

OUR FOCUS

"And the second is like, namely
this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
There is none other commandment greater
than these."

          ~Mark 12:31

In short, our focus is people! We see a community and ask what can we do next? So many are lost and others are hurting. Within those parameters we are congregation seeking to be what Jesus was to those around Him.

Our extended focus is to provide those living on the Gulf Coast with a place to truly worship God without the excess. When you visit us, you will be treated as our family. We won’t embarrass you in any way, but we will display to you how much we love you. We hold two principles true in our worship facilitation, and those are to: “Let all things be done for edification”; “Let all things be done decently and in order”.

Our worship experience to the Lord includes :

  • An energetic and uplifting praise service in song!

  • We are spiritually fed by a powerful and relevant word!

  • We observe the Lord’s Supper as a memorial of our Savior’s death during each service!

  • We spend time in deep prayer and meditation!

  • We give back to the Lord for Him just being an awesome God!

Our focus is simply to take YOU to

New Levels, New Altitudes, New Heights!

Our Message

OUR MESSAGE

Simply put, we are Christians without filters. We do not go by denominational names or traditional practices in our assemblies because we recognize our only authority is Christ.

This is your "non-traditional" family of God.

We recognize that Jesus Christ is the head of the church and we believe in His all power. Jesus distinguished between abiding by His authority and merely believing in Him when He said, “And why do you call Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ and do not do what I say?” (Luke 6:46). Realizing this truth gives knowledge that adding to, or taking from the simple instruction of Jesus is a failure to honor Him as Lord.

So what is our message?

We teach Christ! We teach the message of the crucified and risen Lord.

This Gospel message is for all!

We urge that all accept this gift of eternal life by following God’s plan of salvation found in scripture. The members of the church were dedicated to following the example of Jesus in their daily lives and so we aim to do the same. (Eph. 5:1-2).
Our History

OUR HISTORY

1965.
It was the year 1965, when a small group of Christians started meeting in a house on Nixon Street in East Biloxi. This group of believers continued to meet there for several years.

1968.

A few years after their initial meeting, this assembly of the body of Christ began to grow and flourish in numbers, making the house on Nixon Street no longer accommodating. It was time to move. The group was then able to purchase a building on Division Street. They later became known as the Division Street church.

2005.

The Division Street Church of Christ was able to thrive in the East Biloxi community until devastation struck in August of 2005. Along with many other homes, businesses, and churches, the Division Street6 building sustain major damage in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. This group of christians was resilient and continues to worship on the property underneath a borrowed tent throughout those winter months ahead. As a new year approached, the church purchased a trailer and began to worship there until receiving their next big blessing.
2009.

It was time to move again. After becoming displaced and worshipping under a tent, and later in a trailer, the Division Street group was able to purchase a new building in North Biloxi. The church moved to our now current location, which was at the time located on U.S. Highway 15. The group known as the Division Street Church of Christ became the Highway Fifteen Church of Christ in 2009. Shortly after this move, the church was hit with another devastating blow. They were now without a preacher. Their current minister relocated and the next stepped right in to fill the void until his family soon received military order and were off as well.
2012.
The Highway Fifteen church continued to remain steadfast as they well wished their minister and family off to their next duty station. The faithful men of the church rotated the pulpit weekly in the absence of an evangelist, and kept the members prayerful that God would send the right leader for His people on the Mississippi Gulf Coast.
2014.
In May of 2014, a preacher out of New Orleans was made aware of this congregation and the needs that persisted here. The preacher at that time was placed in contact with the faithful men of the congregation, and he volunteered to temporarily help us in efforts to get back on our feet. The church had now sustained numerous challenges from being displaced by the storm and losing 2 preachers that the membership had drastically declined to approximately 15 members.

2014 (b).

In a full sprint toward the year's end, August to be exact, we made a decision. The faithful men of the church determined that it was time to rebuild this congregation. On August 17, 2014, Bro. Charles and members of the church went to New Orleans for worship and to make an announcement/proposal.  We decided that we'd found our new evangelist. We attended Elysian Fields Church of Christ that Sunday and listened to Bro. Page deliver a powerful message. Shortly after the conclusion of that message, Bro. Charles walked to the front of the assembly and introduced himself. Bro. Charles then been began to address the reason for him coming before the church. We went there to get our preacher. We thanked Bro. Page for helping us and we asked him to be our new evangelist. Bro. Page accepted our invitation and he became our new ministering evangelist. Bro. Page came in and hit the ground running. We began to grow and thrive again. The Lord was blessing us.
2017.
In August of 2017, 3 years since the arrival of Bro. Page, the church had more than doubled in size. A new vision was casted. After much prayer, study, and thought we became the New Heights church of Christ. The vision was casted by our evangelist, that we should be known for more than a street name. And because our street was renamed from Highway 15 to Reece Bergeron Road, we renamed our designation to becoming more than just a street. We desire to set an expectation in the hearts of those whom have not yet named the name of Jesus. We want then to know that by becoming a member of the body of Christ, that they can expect to go to New Heights. We are the New Height church!
